  • (1:06 - Start of Presentation) Robert H. Lustig, MD, UCSF Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Endocrinology, explores the damage caused by sugary foods. It's ridiculous people in the comments either attack him for giving advice while being "fat" which he isn't or for promoting low carb and hating on fruit which he doesn't. He is simply talking about how fructose can negativly effect your health exspecialy your liver. He stated several times how fruit is healthy because all the fructose is included in even more fiber and how clutures who eat lots of rice are perfectly healthy. His main opponent is procesed fructose exspecialy in soft drinks and people try to make it seem like he is preaching against apples or something. I normaly see no point in complaining about comment sections but one scroll makes it painfully obvious that most people complaining didnt even finish the first 20 minutes.

Thank you for this video. People need to know that SUGAR is POISON. In my channel I've made several top 5 of the most dangerous foods and drinks and guess what always comes out on top as the most dangerous? Soft drinks! I'm starting to thing they should put warning labels on colas like they do on cigarettes.

I try to tell my friends and family to stop drinking soda and juice and that will go a long way in improving their health and then they ask me what will I drink. I tell them to just drink water and they look at like I have three eyes in my head or something. Sadly I'm the only one in my family over 35 to my knowledge who doesn't have high blood pressure 🤔

You brought in the concept of calories here. I recently read an article that showed that body does not deal with calories, neither does it count them. The concept of calories came from physics not from biology. Body recognises nutrients only. Keep up your fight against sugar. Good job.

141 pounds of sugar per year per person. That was a decade ago. Imagine how bad it is today.

This presentation was delivered 10 years ago. It is astounding how little progress has been made in the education of Drs and the public. The fake news for nutrition is comparable to the CCP publishing the coronavirus originated in Italy.

I had family come over from Asia to the U.K. about 10/15 years ago and they said everything is so sweet here. The more west you go the more sugar in everything.

I believe that this type of information just proves that our government agencies that are supposed to protect us are really just in bed with big Pharma all the way around. First of all if our government was concerned at all about what people were eating and drinking as related to their health they would put strict limits on the food stamp program and only allow healthy non-processed foods. I see people throwing Oreos chips and loads of soda and sugary juice on the belt when they're at the market and then they pay with a Link Card.

I cut all refined sugars out of my diet and eat a 100% whole/clean diet as of 4 months ago and it's like I have found the fountain of youth. I haven't counted calories or gone hungry at all in these last 4 months and I have lost 25 pounds (20 more to go) and my adult acne has cleared up. No big secret, I just make all my own food and I don't buy anything that has more than 3 ingredients in it (all of which I have to be able to pronounce).
