  • Please SUBSCRIBE NOW! It's a good thing Coyote isn't afraid of the dark because nighttime in the desert is when most of it's creepiest creatures come out to roam the sand. In this episode of Breaking Trail he proves that even giant spiders can't stop his curiosity for the natural world... that is until the hairy spider gets a little too friendly and crawls right up on his back! You aren't going to want to miss this encounter with one GIANT TARANTULA! Breaking Trail leaves the map behind and follows adventurer and animal enthusiast Coyote Peterson and his crew as they explore a variety of wildlife in the most amazing environments throughout North America!  Watch More Breaking Trail: Subscribe Now! Find more info at: Coyote Peterson on Twitter: Coyote Peterson on Facebook: Coyote Peterson G+: *Correction* In an effort to keep all of our animal facts as accurate as possible we must make the acknowledgement that Male Desert Blonde Tarantulas are in fact slightly smaller than the females which is in contrast with what is said in the video. Additionally it is worth pointing out that males and females are very close in size and that their sexual dimorphism is not as apparent as seen in most spiders. A special thanks to our expert spider fans for pointing this out.

I slept outside in the AZ desert when I was younger. I was stranded without any money or place to stay, so I slept ontop of my backpack straight on the ground. I woke up with 5-8 spiders near this size just sitting on me. It was terrifying. I basically just stood up and started flailing around like a lunatic until they all fell off. So DO NOT sleep outside in the desert without a tent. lol

What you need to do if a spider is in your home is simple. Get a piece of paper or a container (depending on the size of the spider). Then get a pen or something to prod it with. Then really carefully and really gently, burn the house down.
