This is not the world record, not even close. In April of 2006 not only did my ex-wife lift my house right from under me but she walked away with it.

The most impressive part of this video is watching him give a speech with brain hemorrhaging.

The title is actually wrong. It should read : Eddie Hall pressing the planet away from a 500 kg barbell.

Interesting and slightly disturbing fact: Eddie imagined he was lifting a man and not a weight. He said he had to imagine he was lifting a human being from on top of his kids. He said it was sick but it's what gave him that next level strength to lift the weight.

Hate seeing all these comments about thor being better and eddie being a "has-been", seriously? Before eddie people didnt even think 500kg was possible. If eddie didnt do this lift thor wouldnt ever. Cant we just say that they're both amazing athletes and just be impressed instead of calling ever of them out like this

He was completely out of his mind for 2 weeks after this and he fainted after he got into the back of the building. And not to mention he had a brain bleed and couldnt remember things or speak clearly for the next two weeks too.

You have to remember: This damn near killed him. He had brain hemorrhaging and he couldn’t see for over 20 minutes after he lifted it.

501kg deadlift record isn't going to get remembered as well as the first ever man to lift 500kg, after people thinking it was impossible, 501kg is just like someone undercutting someone trying to sell something by a few pounds.

Holding it that long about killed him. He went like 3.5 seconds longer then he needed, about cost him his life. I can imagian what the body goes thru pulling 500 kg
